Scunthorpe ran out comfortable 4-0 victors in their Lincolnshire Senior Cup final tie with near neighbours Grimsby on Saturday.Goals from new skipper Izzy Iriekpen, Jonathan Forte and a brace from Gary Hooper were enough to secure early season silverware for the League One side.

Iron boss Nigel Adkins told the club's official website: "It was a really good game for us because we managed to defend well.

"I was pleased that we scored four, but disappointed that we didn't score more.

"I thought we passed the ball ever so well, and that's what we need to do this season."
