Notts County boss Ian McParland hailed his side's performance despite losing 3-2 against local rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday. In front of a crowd of over 7,000, County fought back from being three goals down at the break to gain a respectable 3-2 final score against their Championship opponents.
Forest went 3-0 after two goals from new signing Robert Earnshaw and a solo effort from Julian Bennett but second-half goals from Jamie Forrester and Ben Fairclough helped restore some County pride.
McParland told the club's official website: "I was pleased for the players, and also the fans, that we got a goal or two out of the game.
"It has been a tough week and the lads did well, but they know they can do better."
