Darlington manager Dave Penney has confirmed he expects striker Tommy Wright's move to Aberdeen to be completed once he regains full fitness. The fee, believed to be in the region of £100,000, has already been accepted by the Quakers but the transfer has been held up due to a reoccurrence of the 23-year-old's knee injury picked up in last season's play-off campaign.
Wright has already had a medical at the Scottish Premier League club and speaking after the club's official team photocall, Penney told The Northern Echo: "A fee has been agreed and he's agreed personal terms with Aberdeen, it's just a matter now of him getting fit.
"He's been up to Aberdeen to have part of the medical but we always knew his knee wouldn't pass a medical and Aberdeen were aware of the situation.
"Once his knee is fit he will have the rest of his medical and he'll be away."
He added: "It's a great chance for him to push his career on."
