Lewis Hamilton became the youngest man to win the Formula One drivers' World Championship in a sensational finish at Interlagos on Sunday.
The 23-year-old Englishman, needing a top-five finish to be champion, seized fifth place again for McLaren Mercedes after losing it on the final lap of a tense, dramatic and rain-hit Brazilian Grand Prix won by his title rival and local hero Felipe Massa of Ferrari.
As Massa triumphed and then celebrated, briefly, Hamilton caught and passed German Timo Glock of Toyota to turn his day from despair to joy after earlier appearing to have controlled his own race.

TITLE WAS WELCOME GIFT BY MASSA FUEL RIG BOYS
DOUBLE WORLD CHAMP FINEST DRIVER OF THE SEASON
ALONSO DOUBLE WORLD CHAMP WAS FINEST DRIVER OF THE SEASON
HE NEVER BOTHERED TO SHUNT PARKED CARS IN THE PIT LANE
TITLE WAS A WELCOME GIFT FROM MASS FUEL RIG BOYS
rumour has it that 10million usd changed hands the next morning in a brazilian cafe.
LEWIS IS F1 WORLD CHAMPION, WHETHER HE'S WORTHY OR NOT IN PEOPLE'S OPINION DOESN'T MATTER, HE IS AND THAT'S THAT! CAN'T WE JUST ENJOY IT AND GIVE LEWIS A BREAK, AFTER ALL IT'S ONLY ABOUT 5 MONTHS UNTIL THE NEW SEASON STARTS AGAIN ANYWAY.
I dont understand why he has silenced his critics... he almost lost it!!!! He could barely manage 5th!!! and that means he has silenced his critics? Its like applauding his great drive in Monaco... when the only reason why he won was because he hit the wall!!I would hardly say his critics have been silenced and that he was the best driver all yr. Alonso, Vettel and Massa proved themselves and silenced critics... i think Hamilton has made it hard for himself and has a bit more work to do
To accuse Timo Glock of doing anything unsporting is tanamount to accusing the Queen of forgetting Her Protocol!
One could say that the proof of a "Worthy Champion" is in the Defence of the Title! Contrary to my Doctors orders I WILL be watching F1 next Year!
do you think it's possible to find all the radio talks between Glock and his team
and check if he received some crazy instructions? quite unlikely by the way...
unless senorita Mercedes came with a big wallet...
bizarre
I posted a slightly negative comment on Hamilton and Raikkonen, world champions from the sky, really lucky guys
saying that the true champions should be Alonzo 2007 and Massa 2008
and I get "invalid comment"
what happens? dictatorship here?
I try again, will see
yes favourite star Alonso was the seasons success story in last 8 events bringing him most points
THE FINEST DRIVER ON THE CIRCUIT IS DOUBLE WORLD CHAMP SUPERSTAR *** ALONSO*****
HE COLLECTED MOST POINTS OVER 2ND HALF OF SEASON IN IMPROVED CAR
WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE FROM THE BEGINNING FOR A 3RD WORLD TITLE
HE NEVER SHUNTED PARKED CARS IN THE PIT LANE OR earned drive thru PENALTIES
This year has shown the four best drivers to be: LH, PM, KR, and dummy throwing damaged goods, Yes and to think I supported him over MS over the last few years. Vettel following close behind and perhaps JB too. Honda’s KERS development seems to be going well. Next year we should have level playing field so we might finally see Jenson showing us his worth. If Honda is able to sell a customer package (hoping) we might see Davidson or Sato back again. Both well respected in F1 circles… PS. I Feel for Dc
Come on guys the results are in, the fat lady’s stopped singing, LH has won. Its over and All in the business, teams and drivers (Inc his worthy opponents) have already praised him as a worthy world champion. Its time for some on this site to eat humble pie and move on.
Close call Lewis! Let's see how he does next season now that he's riled everyone up! Hope he proves himself to be a deserved world champion.
So right such a toyota yaris, however, timed to perfection...maybe is was an F1yaris after all =)
