Get all the news and reaction from Lewis Hamilton's title triumph here.....
Lewis Hamilton became the youngest man to win the Formula One drivers' World Championship in a sensational finish at Interlagos on Sunday.
The 23-year-old Englishman, needing a top-five finish to be champion, seized fifth place again for McLaren Mercedes after losing it on the final lap of a tense, dramatic and rain-hit Brazilian Grand Prix won by his title rival and local hero Felipe Massa of Ferrari.
As Massa triumphed and then celebrated, briefly, Hamilton caught and passed German Timo Glock of Toyota to turn his day from despair to joy after earlier appearing to have controlled his own race.

nornicos....how old are u? 12? lol...brush up on ur grammar or english..or both. worthless ppl i tell u lol
have not a balls She ( meen: Lewis) is a @#$%
KUBICA is the BEST HAmilton have not a @#$%
in the end it was a very good season, due to the fact that the so called top drivers & there teams made several errors. well done to hamilton for the drivers & ferrari for the constructors. but for me the better drivers were driving inferior cars.
to continue the incidents in japan were racing incidents, that happen all the time. i mean did rosberg get a penalty for hitting dc in brazil?
hamilton lost 5 points at spa, wrongly in my opinion. massa lost 10 in hungary because his car blew. he also lost an almost certain 10 in singapore because his team messed up.so who was the unlucky one?
Kubica definitely slowed Hamilton down I've seen the replays but no one seems to talk about that, it was his fault Hamilton went down to 6th place. But never mind he got back to 5th and that's all that matters. I still don't understand why all the talk about Glock if he HAD changed his tyres he'd never have been in 4th position anyway, he'd have been behind Hamilton and Vettel.
I don't think that anyone could seriously believe that Glock would put an end to his own F1 career just to give Hamilton and Vettel some points. Why would he favour Lewis Hamilton anyway after Lewis almost ran him off the track earlier in the season.
what was glock thinking about, driving the last lap in a toyota yaris instead of the toyota f1 car. strange.
How can people accuse poor glock of gifting the win. He had the wrong tyres. he was losing about 40 seconds a lap. It is obvious he could not help it because when he comes onto the main straight you can see his car twitching, the back was trying to step out on him. McLaren new LH was gonna catch glock on their gps. So stop blaming him , just because your gutted about celebrating prematurely on Massa's false win. Have some dignity and accept Lewis won fair and square
Well said post 53, and Scott Redding for BBC junior sports personality too
Just for the record, check massas lap times at silverstone in the rain. They were 30-50 seconds slower than everyone on intermediates similar to Glock at interlagos. Fact! Also 6th would have done Hamilton if 2 rounds earlier Kimi hadnt have let Massa through to claim bonus points. Fact. Hamilton should have won it sooner and a worthy champion!
Lewis Hamilton for Sports Personality of the year.
Well Done Lewis & Family and McLaren & Ron for their Vision and support.
Mr Pedantic thinks the Stig is Eddie Irvine.
Mr Pedantic says no they actually failed to keep him in 4th place which is where he was before Vettel then Hamilton overtook him.
Before the race started Martin Brundle interviewed Bernie Eclestone for ITV and said that 28 championships had gone down to the very last race " How is this so "
Bernie Eclestone replied " It takes a lot of organising "
So it seems that all the points taken from Lewis Hamilton this year was just the FIA " organising " a classic finale to the championship.
Glocks tyres didn't fail they just got cold and stopped working. Dry tyres need to be hot to work, when his tyres got cold and lost grip his laptimes simply dropped like a stone.
Of course he will Frank!
I would say he thinks of no one when he is on the track
but he will kill himself, then it will be a bit saver for all drivers.
Even if Glock did 'give' the points to Lewis to win it only serves as justice for the stewards giving 10points to Massa at Spa, not taking points away at Valencia or Singapore for pit lane incidents or at Fuji for ramming Hamilton off the road. Also, it's amazing that everybody things their favourite team and driver are squeeky clean. The are like politicians - all as f@@king bad as each other, accept it and move on. Lewis / McLaren this year were the best of a bad bunch.
