Following news on Monday that Force India F1 has taken up its option on Adrian Sutil for 2010, his manager, Manfred Zimmerman, has confirmed that the Silverstone-based outfit is the 'best option' for next year.
Sutil had been linked to the likes of Toyota, Renault and even McLaren-Mercedes, but it appears he will now stick with Force India for a third season - what will actually be his fifth with the former Jordan team, having began his F1 career there as a test driver in 2006, albeit under one of its previous guises, namely Midland F1.
Speaking to the SID news agency, Zimmerman re-iterated that they want to make a decision within the next few weeks - echoing what Sutil said after Sunday's inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the 17th and final F1 round of the year.
"We have several possibilities [for 2010] and will make a decision in the next five to ten days," Zimmerman stated.
"Adrian has developed into an experienced F1 driver. Force India is a good option and probably the best one.
"They have made a very interesting offer."
More to follow as and when it develops...
