Novak Djokovic made a winning debut at ATP Basel, the Serbian claiming a 6-3 7-5 victory over Andreas Beck.
Djokovic took just under 90 minutes to move into the second round at the St Jakobshalle, the venue where top seed Federer got his start in the game a decade and a half ago as a ball boy at the indoor tournament.
Third-ranked Djokovic delivered ten aces to set up a second-round match with Czech

The Swiss player, ranked 73 in the world, has seen a rise in his fortunes in recent months, reaching the third round of the US Open and also reaching the quarter-finals in Bangkok.
His Basel win in two-and-a-quarter hours was welcome as it ended a run of two successive first round exits in Shanghai and Vienna.
"It's great to have some success at home in Basel," said Chiudinelli, "It was a tough match. "But I'm very fit right now and it hasn't been that way for me during the last two years here.
"He (Kohlschreiber) really put me to the wall but I believed in myself and came through with the win. To win at home is perfect, I'm elated."
The Swiss pounded down 11 aces to 15 for his German opponent, with Chiudinelli saving ten of the dozen break points he faced.

Recently, I came across an age-gap site called ~~~Age M i n gle--C O M ~~~ It's a nice and free place-- for Younger Women and Older Men, or Older Women and-- Younger Men, to interact with each other. Age gap is-- not problem there. You may check out or tell your-- friends.
He he he really charming :-)
Eurosport wrote that stupidity yesterday, so don’t blame me to trust wrong data from one "serious" site or serious tournament.
Ashit g,
We are all very lucky and grateful, to have such a charming and sophisticated person such as yourself, adding such class to the tennis forum.

Y DONT U BECOME AN ORGANIZER ??? U KNW SO MUCH BETTER THAN OTHERS.... U STUPID CREEP !!!!
pleasure!
thanks doctor Nicholas ;-)
Igor just because your paranoid dosen't mean there not really out to get Novak ;)
WTF? Djokovic at midnight ? Well done organizers ?!
I hope this is some mistake.
tomorrow match they should put him playing at noon ;-) 6 hours of sleep is enough for you Nole.. Breakfast ? you don’t need it :-)
little games just started - Federer must win this.
Nole is a great player but I think he will never be the first, unfortunately
I really want him to win this one, but in order to beat Federer, he needs more guts and courage, not to mention a better tactical approach to the match... Idemo Nole, do titule!
Ajde Novak!
Ha ah aha ha ah HA
Hahaha Ray. Good one
With such amusing playing, Nole for sure will win in Basel. (read 500 ATP points:)
As I've suggested in free-online verse (web-search my name), what some get for their hours work compared with others is ridiculous and inhumane - tennis is a great game/capitalism is NOT a great system.
Go Nole! Beck is no joke, he's had a good year.
Surprisingly good Andreas Beck besides Novak`s more aggressive approach then we are used to this year (and all are glad to see i think). Guy has stunning forehand, really good server, but gets terrible on backhand and volleying.. This was good start from Novak. Some thing are promising.. GO NOLE !
I`m truly hope that he can reach the final! Idemo NOLE!
this is basel and not belgrade right?..therefor dont expect him to win
solid, let's see if he can reach the final
