Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia have reinstated four of the nine players they had suspended for staying out too late.

CSKA, who travel to Switzerland to face Basel in the Europa League on Thursday, suspended the players after Sunday's 2-0 league defeat by Litex Lovech for "ruining the atmosphere" at the club after media reports of late-night drinking sessions.

The 31-times Bulgarian champions overturned the bans imposed on Brazilian Marquinhos, Portugal's David Silva, Pavel Vidanov and Todor Timonov.

"I spoke with the players, they made excuses and I accepted it," said coach Luboslav Penev, who included Marquinhos, Vidanov and Timonov in the squad for Thursday's game. "I hope it will help them realise what they did."

The other five suspended players, who include four Bulgaria internationals, will start training with the reserve team but it was unclear when they would return to first-team training.
