Battered heavyweight contender Chris Arreola will have plenty of time to nurse his wounds following defeat at the powerful hands of Vitali Klitschko after boxing chiefs banned the fighter for swearing.
The American, who dreams of becoming the first heavyweight champion of Mexican heritage, was in an emotional state after his corner had stopped the September 26 fight after the 10th round.
Tears flowed freely as he thanked the crowd and the boxer later relied on some industrial language to express his intent to hit back following the defeat.
World Boxing Council president Jose Sulaiman took a very dim view of the use of a swear word in Arreola's post-fight interview, however, and proposed the 28-year-old be banned from competing for six months.
The WBC's board of governors approved the sanction at the body's annual convention in Jeju, South Korea.
The ban will be backdated to the fight night.

6 months for swearing eh? If only they could do that to footballers! But in Rugby Union, you can gauge someone's eye out and get praised by your coach!
he looks very fat!
What was the awful word he said to have deserved a six months ban?

Not really Friedrich, Button was completely different, he wasn't being interviewed at the time. tbh, banning someone for 6 months for swearing is pathetic. A fine yes, ban no.
Too bad, he was scheduled to fight on the Paul Williams card next month. I would like to see how he bounces back from his first loss. To think he could of fought Tua!
Very poor, this is a tough sport played by grown ups . . .why didn't they call the FMJ V Hatton fight off when Ricky shouted "let's f ucking have him" at the weigh in?
Even though it sounds like a joke, he better watch his f ... language the next time. F1 could have done the same with Button, couldn't they.

most boxers wait about 6 months before een signing to fight again, how exactly will this set him back any more than 3 months at most, it means nothing.
