Jayne Torvill believes Sinead and John Kerr can end Great Britain's 16-year wait for an Olympic ice skating medal.
Torvill partnered Christopher Dean to bronze in Lillehammer, ten years after they famously struck gold in Sarajevo with a string of perfect sixes in 1984 (pictured).
The Scottish siblings, bronze medallists at this year's European Championships, travel to Vancouver - 100 days away tomorrow - brimming with confidence, winning their first event of the season in Finland last month.
"I genuinely think they have a medal chance - and I think this will be their big year," said Torvill.
"They did really well last season, so fingers crossed. You don't want to put too much pressure on them and make them disappointed if they don't medal but they've certainly every chance and they're very, very talented
"I think if they do well it will be an inspiration for others coming up to continue and push on themselves.
"There's a little pressure on them because nobody has got among the medals since we did but it will happen eventually."
