Oldham have been hit by the news that defender Kelvin Lomax could be out of action until the new year.

Lomax missed out on the defeat to Huddersfield with a knee injury suffered in the victory at Brighton.

The 22-year-old is waiting to hear back from the specialist to find out the length of his lay-off.

Physio Marc Czuczman told the official website: "It's a bone bruise of the tibia plus a small un-displaced intra-articular fracture.

"The films are currently with a specialist; if they consider the fracture insignificant then Kelvin could be back in two weeks.

"However the reality could well be up to eight weeks."
