Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen believes the next few weeks could be crucial in the club's season.
Nelsen is looking to get back on track on Saturday after the defeat by Manchester United when they face Portsmouth at Ewood Park on Saturday.
Blackburn are only two points outside the relegation zone and Nelsen told the club`s official website: "It is time for us to stand up and be counted.
"There are some important games ahead and ones that we can win. We have got to maintain our home form.
"Portsmouth have had a couple of decent results but we have made Ewood Park a difficult place to visit and are looking forward to Saturday."

I would be worried about your own team not ours. Portsmouth will be no picnic. As you said to me a few weeks ago, there are no easy games, and if you think you will walk over Portsmouth, then you have another thing coming.
Just in case you cant see past your blinkered view of football, Portsmouth have been playing some good football, and have been very unlucky in some games. They are in a false postion, and I can see them getting a win, against a depleted and disjointed Blackburn side.
As for Man City, well, if we get a point I would be happy. I dont think there will be many teams go there and get points this season.
As for beating us, I will admit, the better team won on the day. But I am a football fan, so I am not ashamed to admit it. Even on a Blackburn board. Something I dont think you would ever do??
You do have to play us at Turf Moor yet, and it is a Derby, so anything can happen, but I wouldnt be bragging just yet.
Hi Johnny you got up again seeing you won one or two been in hiding then since your beating by the superblues, dose'nt matter if we go down to the 2nd div we sure beat your lot of dingles eh?? see you all went very quite after that ha ha ha ha , repeat performance at that @#$% non league pit of your's watch!! e-mail as before after christmas johnny lets see where we both are??
I see you on the Burnley boards and see what you write. Then I come to the Blackburn boards and read this, plus other simular posts.
You obviously think Blackburn are @#$% right now. It must hurt to see us above you in the league, playing much more attractive football whilst your sitting in the religation zone playing the most negative football in football!
Nr Nelson, its not digging in we need its someone to put the ball in the net and stop playing 1 man up front every bloody game we need to attack more get the ball into feet through the midfield and stop giving the blackburn public neck ache!! just cant cope with the long high ball anymore, why not try a different approach against a portsmouth side who are struggling currently and try to give the paying supporters some quality passing?? I take all i said about Dunn back and oppologise he'splaying out of skin currently its just a shame the rest arn't especially the alledeged strikers mc duff and roberts our loan player di santo playing well why cant the experienced and i use that word with caution just put in the effort after all they are supposed ot be the experienced ones there just a joke.
