Reds duo miss out

Glen Johnson and Fabio Aurelio both failed to make Liverpool's squad for the Champions league Group E clash in Lyon on Wednesday.

Both were given fitness tests on calf injuries ahead of the party flying out from Liverpool, and were left behind on Merseyside for further treatment.

Liverpool have been given permission from UEFA to bring in teenage defender Daniel Ayala from their B list of players registered for the group matches, such is their injury crisis which sees six players ruled out, including Steven Gerrard.

As a huge liverpool fan i dont really see what raf has­ done 4 liverpool post houllier!!, its was basicaly­ houllier's team that won the champions league in­ '05 after a dissastrous team selection in the first­ half by rafa. It was steve g that won the fa cup a year­ later. Admittedly he took us 2 the champ's final­ again in a game we should have won!! but what since?.­ nothing!!! Most off his signings have been worse than­ houlliers apart from the obvious torres and a few other­ spaniards, but it seems as with the passing of time and­ coincidentally houlliers riegn liverpool have less and­ less inffluance on any trophy!!!! long live the­ treble!!.....
