Rodgers getting balance right

Manager Brendan Rodgers feels a settled line-up is helping his Reading side find their best form.

Only one enforced change - returning skipper Ivar Ingimarsson replacing the injured Matt Mills - was made for Saturday's trip to the Ricoh Arena where the Royals coasted to a 3-1 win over Coventry.

Rodgers told the club's official website: "The balance of the team in the last couple of games has been strong. The guys in the shirt have got to work hard to stay in now.

"I wanted a settled, solid team and you could see that in the last two performances, Once we have that, we'll be more of a threat.

"On Saturday the dynamic was right. Offensively we were very good and defensively we were disciplined and strong.

"Before the game we gave the players the message to keep playing with confidence, tempo and spirit, then the quality will come through. We did that on Saturday and I was very pleased - we deserved to win."
