Terriers triumph thrills Clark

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark saluted a 'perfect day' as his side jumped into the League One play-off places courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Oldham.

Robbie Williams blasted the only goal of the game from a free-kick to end the Terriers' run of four straight away defeats.

Clark said: "If we have aspirations to be one of the three teams who go up, this is the type of away result we need. To keep a clean sheet, win with a fantastic strike and do it in front of a big away following makes it a perfect day."

He added: "We have to be resolute, strong and aggressive and we need to stand up and be counted, which is exactly what happened.

"We needed one or two different qualities because the conditions were difficult but with a bit of luck we could have scored more than one.

"It was a good goal from Robbie Williams. We all know he has a sweet left foot and he put the free-kick away very well.

"I am delighted but you win nothing at this stage and I have stressed that we have to do this consistently."
