The 26-year-old former Liverpool and Aston Villa hitman - who was top scorer at the 2004 European Championships - has struggled to make an impact at Stade Gerland since joining last season, mostly used as a late substitute when fit, and has been linked with a move since the summer.

But, in a somewhat unusual statement, Aulas denied that anyone has come in for him and urged the player to make a name for himself with Les Gones.

"I have not received an approach," Aulas declared. "But I am a little bit deaf right now and there are some instances when I don't hear everything.

"I have still not met the player but [sporting director] Bernard Lacombe and [general manager] Marino Faccioli have seen him and they explained to him that the best way to show that he is indispensable to us - or for anyone else if that is the case - is to deliver the goods on the pitch."

Baros joined Lyon in a part-exchange deal with Aston Villa for John Carew in January 2007 and has since only scored five goals in 19 matches.
