Norwich have sealed the permanent signing of Newcastle midfielder Matthew Pattison and have also landed Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand on loan.Pattison, 21, made 10 appearances during his loan spell at Carrow Road and has now signed a three-and-a-half-year contract after joining for an undisclosed fee.

Bertrand, 18, has recently had a loan spell at League One Oldham and will stay with the Canaries for the remainder of the season.

Manager Glenn Roeder told the club's official website: "We have been following Ryan at Oldham and we've been very impressed. We believe he can step up to the Championship and help us to pick up as many points as we can."
