Grant tight-lipped over transfers

Fri 04 Jan, 05:45 PM

Chelsea boss Avram Grant says there is no news yet about Bolton hitman Nicolas Anelka or any other new arrivals at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are expected to make a big splash during the January transfer window, and have been linked with moves for both Anelka and Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov.

But Grant was remaining tight-lipped on Friday as the Stamford Bridge side prepared for the FA Cup third-round clash with QPR.

He told the club's official website: "At the moment there is a lot of speculation, I understand it, we have a lot of injuries and players are going to the African Nations Cup - but there is no news for the moment about any players coming to Chelsea.

"There are so many good players we are following. I don't want to talk about Anelka or Berbatov, or any other players. There is no news at the moment so that is what is important.

"Every week someone is writing about players coming or leaving us. I am happy with the squad. All the players who are now in the squad will stay in the squad until the end of the season."
