Everton boss David Moyes says he knows nothing about a reported move for former loan star Manuel Fernandes.The Portuguese midfielder spent the second half of last season at Goodison before joining Spanish giants Valencia in the summer.

And Friday's tabloids claimed he could be heading back to Merseyside, but Moyes says that's not the case.

"I didn't even know that," Moyes told the club's official website when told of the reports.

Moyes admitted that while talk of a move for Fernandes may be wide of the mark he is looking at which players are available in January.

He said: "We are actively having a look around, but I think like everybody else, if the right thing was available we would try to do something - but there is no news to give about anybody who looks as though they are on their way in."
