Tykes aim to give Leon cup debut

Fri 04 Jan, 03:00 PM

Barnsley hope to conclude all the paperwork in time to include new signing Diego Leon in their squad for the FA Cup clash with Blackpool.Former Real Madrid midfielder Leon officially signed for Barnsley on January 1 from Grasshoppers Zurich and is hoping to make his debut against the Seasiders.

But the Tykes have yet to receive all the relevant documents and have until noon on Saturday to get the go-ahead.

Barnsley will be without defender Lewin Nyatanga, who has returned to parent club Derby, so Dennis Souza will partner Stephen Foster at the heart of defence with Bobby Hassell and Marciano Van Homoet as full-backs.

Kayode Odejayi will be hoping to retain his place up front following on-loan striker Jon Macken's recent return to Derby.
