Colchester boss Geraint Williams has confirmed he has made bids for six players in a bid to drag his side out of relegation trouble.Williams admits he does not expect to sign all six of his targets, but he is casting his net wide as he looks to strengthen his squad.
He told the Evening Gazette: "In this day and age, what happens is that you make these bids and you know that you're not going to get every target.
"You target the players you want in priority and you make your bids. I cannot see six players coming in - but we have made six bids.
"We look everywhere, but they have to be good enough if they're young players to come in and push their way into the team and if they're experienced, they have to still be motivated and be within our price range."
Williams also revealed the U's have received enquiries into their current crop, adding: "We've not had anything in writing but we have received phone calls."
