Valencia have dismissed rumours of a bid from Chelsea for David Villa as newspaper speculation.
Reports had claimed that Chelsea were looking to bring in the Spanish striker during the January transfer window.
Blues boss Avram Grant is keen to bolster his attack and has also been linked with moves for Nicolas Anelka and Dimitar Berbatov.
But Valencia have confirmed to skysports.com that no offer has been received for Villa from the Premier League club.
A club spokesman said: "Valencia has not received an offer for David Villa from Chelsea in the last few days.
"We only know the news that's in the papers."
Villa's agent Jose Luis Tamargo also revealed that the Spain international's intention is to focus on improving Valencia's league position.
Tamargo said: "Villa's level is strong in Europe, but selling him or not depends on Valencia.
"At the moment the player is only thinking of playing to help the club."
