Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has rejected reports linking Roque Santa Cruz with a move to Manchester City.
Reports in Friday morning's papers claimed Sven-Goran Eriksson was planning an audacious raid for the in-form Paraguayan striker.
But Hughes claims the frontman, a big success at Ewood Park since his summer move from Bayern Munich, is going nowhere.
"I am sure a lot of clubs would like a player of the ability of Roque Santa Cruz," said Hughes. "I think at this time of the year people make a little bit of mischief.
"The fact he scored two goals against them [City] maybe highlighted him to fans of Manchester City and agents who are circling around.
"Roque is contracted here for another three years after this season, so Roque is not going anywhere."
Hughes also confirmed a number of clubs are chasing unsettled midfielder Robbie Savage.
Sunderland, Wigan, Derby and Fulham are all believed to be keen on the former Wales international, but Hughes insists no-one has met their valuation of the former Leicester and Birmingham star.
Roy Keane's Sunderland are believed to have had a bid rejected by Blackburn and Hughes insists the player will only leave on their terms.
"A number of clubs have asked to be kept informed of Robbie's situation," added Hughes.
"One club has actually put in a bid, but that bid was not at the level we felt we could accept.
"People know the price we will take for Robbie's service. If that price is not reached Robbie will stay here, nothing has moved on from Wednesday,
"We have a value for Robbie that we feel is the correct value for Robbie, if it is not met Robbie will not go."
