Terry Fears For Chelsea

Fri 04 Jan, 12:09 PM

Chelsea fear skipper John Terry could be ruled out for the rest of the season, according to reports.

The England captain fractured three bones in his right foot in a challenge with Emmanuel Eboue during the 1-0 defeat by Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on 16th December.

The club initially announced that the inspirational centre-back would need at least six weeks to recover from the setback, with the player setting his sights on a return to action in the middle of February.

But reports in the national press indicate that the Stamford Bridge club are concerned that Terry's recovery could take longer than anticipated.

The Blues skipper, who has been given a protective boot to wear to aid the healing process, is due to have his foot re-examined when he returns from holiday in Dubai.

Avram Grant is already looking to bolster his defensive ranks during the January transfer window, with a move for Lokomotiv Moscow's Serbian international centre-half Branislav Ivanovic on the cards.
