Premier League - Dalglish defends Liverpool over Suarez
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish refuses to accept the club are creating more problems by continuing to challenge the findings of an independent commission which found Luis Suarez guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra.
The club and the player reluctantly accepted the eight-match ban and £40,000 fine - meaning the striker was unavailable for the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City. However, Dalglish refused to back down in the long-running row over how the situation has been handled and claimed the 115-page report which damned Suarez's evidence failed to mention several salient facts.
He would not elaborate on what those where but said after both the club and the player issued statements: "I don't think we are digging a bigger hole - it is unfortunate we cannot be more forthcoming. There are a lot of things we'd like to say and a lot of things we could say but we don't want to get ourselves into trouble."
He added: "We know what has gone on; we know what is not in the report and that is important for us. But without me getting myself in trouble, that is me finished.
"It is unfortunate that you don't actually know the whole content of what went on at the hearing. I am not prepared and I cannot say. I cannot go any further."
Suarez maintains his innocence and admits the last two months have left him feeling "powerless" over the accusations which were made against him.
"Never, I repeat, never, have I had any racial problem with a team-mate or individual who was of a different race or colour to mine. Never," he said in a statement.
"I am very upset by all the things which have been said during the last few weeks about me, all of them being very far from the truth. But above all, I'm very upset at feeling so powerless whilst being accused of something which I did not, nor would not, ever do.
"In my country 'negro' is a word we use commonly, a word which doesn't show any lack of respect and is even less so a form of racist abuse. Based on this, everything which has been said so far is totally false.
"I will carry out the suspension with the resignation of someone who hasn't done anything wrong and who feels extremely upset by the events."

It is an established fact that people of African descent are often referred in derogatory language as monkeys,
negro and so forth, so for Suarez and Kenny Daglish and for that matter the Liverpool team as a whole to come out and pretend to be insensitive to this derogatory attitude is very shameful and naive. Now who is trying to import such an uncultured attitude to the British society. If Suarez thinks patting a ladies buttocks is not an offence where he comes from he should try it in an Islamic country and he would no where it would land him. It's all about being SENSIBLE to other people's culture and feelings.

SID(168)- Your arguement is flawed, firstly success comes and goes, domestically Man Utd are the most successfull, in Europe though Liverpool are and will be for years to come. Your mention of franchise size means being the most "Loved" is absolute nonsense, Real Madrid are knows factually to have a larger world wide fan base than anyone else yet are only 5th and Barca are have the best playing and most respected team at the moment yet are way down as the 26th biggest...and I don't know how Forbes came to these conclusions anyway as Liverpool F.c have a larger turnover than Chelsea, larger wordwide support and have let debt (whether to the owner or not it's still debt and Chelsea owe Abrahamovic approx $889mill) yet Chelsea break into the top 50. Then to say Liverpool are the most hated racist club in the world...where did you get this fact from??...Uruguay politicians are singing their support of Suarez, The worldwide coverage has been minimal (and I've looked at foreign media reactions) so again your arguement is based on Man Utd fans and their limited blinkered views against Liverpool AND NOT racism...,Man Utd were the main offenders at making monkey noises at John Barnes in the 80s and regularly sing about Hillsbrough.....Man Utd are a big club but for some reason always try to belittle Liverpool, it's pathetic really. LIVERPOOL are the most successful club in British History not MANURE UNITED, and remember things are not frozen in time as you fear LIVERPOOL will eventually add another title to their 18 and another and so on, regards Manure having the biggest Fan base and been popular that is down more to advertising and marketing which would suggest these are not fans in the normal sense but glory hunters duped into the MANURE UNITED merchandise machine, most of whom live in the Far East and dare I suggest are really attracted to colorful razzamatazz . @ Michael: I've supported United since the 1960's and have seen Liverpool rise and United fall but still I follow United, I'm not a glory hunter I just follow my club through thick and thin. It's interesting that Liverpool supporters still consider Liverpool to be the most successful club in England which would indicate that it is the Liverpool supporters are the glory hunters, but I know they are just passionate about their club the same as United supporters. The difference is United supporters KNOW their club is the most successful club in England, Liverpool supporters THINK their club are still the most successful in England but with 19 v 18 titles proves they are not. I think following the appalling way Dalglish and LFC have backed Suarez after being found guilty of racism many people around the world will look at Liverpool Football Club with disgust. LFC are now the most hated racist football club in the world. Man United are the biggest sporting franchise of any sport in the world which must surly make them the most loved. Liverpool do not even feature in the top 50. The reality is Liverpool are miles behind United and now thanks to Suarez and Dalglish are fast slipping further away. The fact is you Liverpool fans can't just take it. The music & the parcel stopped at Suarez's feet I'm afraid. Evra admits he abuses Suarez, Suarez said he didn't hear him, Evra a known trouble maker, accused people of being racist before. So lay the blame at Suarez's feet, someone with very little knowledge of English.spoken or written. Evra speaks to a French TV channel. He makes an accusation about Suarez, he's asked if he wants to pursue this case. Having already said he didn't think Suarez was a racist, he carries on with the case. At that point, all this could have been resolved with an apology from both parties. But I'm afraid Mr Evra has been true to form & carried on, and has almost destroyed a players career. Lets face it, Suarez won't be allowed to forget this, or the club. It's going to be difficult to move on from this. Does Evra feel proud of himself I wonder, he's proved he is the nasty arrogant man we all thought him to be.
