Chesterfield assistant manager Alan Knill has left his post at Saltergate to become boss of League Two rivals Bury.Knill, 43, played for the Gigg Lane club between 1989 and 1993 making 159 appearances and scoring 10 goals.
He joined Chesterfield as Lee Richardson's number two in March last year after being sacked by the Spireites' local rivals Rotherham earlier that month.
Knill replaces Chris Brass, who was placed in temporary charge of the Shakers following the dismissal of Chris Casper in January.
