Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley has been nominated for the Powerade-sponsored Championship Player of the Month for January.The Wales international, who is reported to have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, scored four times for the Bluebirds in a month which saw Dave Jones' side remain unbeaten in the league.

Charlton midfielder Zheng Zhi, Norwich veteran Dion Dublin and Burnley striker Robbie Blake are the other contenders.

Meanwhile, Chester will seek talks with free agent Kevin Cooper after he left Cardiff by mutual consent on transfer deadline day.

Having played under Jones at Stockport, Wolverhampton and then the Bluebirds the Derby-born winger is now able to seek a new club despite the transfer window being closed.

A statement on Chester's website read: "City are looking to bring in former Cardiff City midfielder Kevin Cooper and will seek talks with him today (Monday)."
