Brighton midfielder Shane McFaul has received a late call-up into the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad which faces England on Tuesday night.The 21-year-old, who made his first appearance for the Seagulls since his January move from University College Dublin as a late sub against Crewe at the weekend, was pulled out of training on Monday morning and travelled to Southampton to prepare for the clash at St Mary's.

"It all happened really quickly. I think they've had one or two injuries," he said.

"I would be brilliant to be involved. They normally pick the team on the morning of the game, so I'll have to wait and see."
