Charlton midfielder Zheng Zhi's impressive recent form has earned him a nomination for the Championship Player of the Month for January.The China captain scored three goals last month, bagging a double in the 4-1 win over Blackpool and the opener in the 1-1 FA Cup draw with West Brom - the first Chinese player to ever score in the competition.

Zheng, who joined the Addicks permanently in the summer from Shandong Luneng in a deal which could rise to £2million, has been one of their most consistent performers this season and has already scored nine goals from midfield.

Burnley forward Robbie Blake, veteran Norwich star Dion Dublin and Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley are the other nominees.
