League One - Owls second after beating Glovers
Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to beat Yeovil 2-1 with goals from Jermaine Johnson and Reda Johnson after Jonathan Obika scored to give the visitors a half-time lead.
Wednesday debutant John Bostock, signed on loan from Tottenham, went close with a free-kick which only just cleared the bar. Then Jermaine Johnson posed a threat to the visitors with a shot from just outside the area which went wide.
Obika gave Yeovil a 41st minute lead, poking the ball past Stephen Bywater following an incisive through ball from Ryan Dickson.
Andrew Williams threatened to put the visitors further ahead before the break when his low angled shot went narrowly wide.
In the 57th minute Jermaine Johnson struck a superb equaliser, finding the net from around 30 yards.
The home side continued to press after the goal with Reda Johnson, Chris O'Grady and Ryan Lowe all putting efforts off-target.
And it was no surprise when Wednesday grabbed an 80th minute winner, Reda Johnson (pictured) following up to fire home after Clinton Morrison's effort was saved by Sam Walker.
Stephen Gleeson denied Huddersfield with the equaliser for MK Dons in a 1-1 draw at the Galpharm Stadium.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder launched a free-kick which evaded everyone and nestled in the top corner after 62 minutes.
Jamie McCombe had given Town the lead on the stroke of half-time.
Gary Naysmith took a short free-kick to Kallum Higginbotham who curled the ball to the far post allowing McCombe to send a towering header back across goal and into the top corner.
The Dons levelled in the 62nd minute. Gleeson, on the far left touchline some 35 yards out, launched his kick which went over everyone, including goalkeeper Ian Bennett, and into the top corner.
Town went close to snatching a winner in stoppage time when Jack Hunt's shot hit the underside of the bar and Scott Arfield sent the follow up wide.
Second-half goals from Ben Parker and Francois Zoko saw Carlisle come from behind to beat Chesterfield 2-1 at wintry Brunton Park.
Drew Talbot had given the Spireites a 16th-minute lead but after Parker had headed home from a corner, Zoko took advantage of weak defending to race away and win it for Carlisle with his 10th goal of the season.
New signing Matty Whichelow scored one and created the other as Wycombe came from behind to boost their survival hopes with a 2-1 victory over Tranmere.
Rovers appeared well set for their first win of 2012 after Adam McGurk fired them in front with a dipping left-foot shot in the fifth minute, but Wycombe had other ideas.
First Whichelow, a deadline day loan signing from Watford, headed home in the 23rd minute before turning provider for Gareth Ainsworth to net what proved to be the winner moments later.
The day's remaining eight matches were all postponed due to frozen pitches.

Chris - if you look at the dates on the correspondence you refer to you will see it is Yahoo that has cocked it up and included comments that are nothing to do with the subject.
Err Am I missing something the article is about Wednesday beating Yeovil and going second. Yeah Ok, Well done Charleton for being top but Charleton fans stick your comments below an article that at least features your team. How desparate are Charleton fans that they need to do this? #30 and #19 if you guys represent the capital's IQ we are in deep...
Wednesday 3 Charlton 0
Tight game yesterday Charlton do look like a a top team. Class from Jackson coupled with an excellent team effort won the day , well done , again , the boys.
Jackson two Sheffield nil
Charlton may not look a top of the table team but we are top of the table and thats what counts.
Charlton did not look like a top of the table team ,never worked our keeper .if this is them playing well at home then anyone can beat them .as long as they get a ref who wont fall for there constant diving which has no place in this league.
Every so often a mongrel sh**s a thoroughbred
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Now you Wednesday fans can shut up. Get over it. CAFC forever
Oh well another Yorkshire club bites the dust to the small club from London. Getting boring now Charlton. Previous posters that posted "Powell had lots of money to spend on a new squad", not true. 20 in, 21 out, very little paid on transfers, majority frees and loans. The trick was getting right players and paying good wages. The real threat to Charltons promotion push, is M K Dons. Sheeffield United your turn next week. Nice to see BDM, David and Rodders so wrong with there predictions. Please note Charlton fans could not get up today due to a massive signal failure at Leicester around 11. Leaving us stranded on trains. Mind you result made up for that disappointment.
OK Where's the Clown who said last week to Charlton fans "Yeah you haven't been to Hillsborough yet" !! LMAO. Well we' came saw and friggin conquered your band of striped numpties. Up the Addicks, Men from the South where we don't cry in our beer. No wonder the beer's full of salt water up there
