Andriy Shevchenko's troubled spell at Chelsea has hit a new low after the Ukrainian was required to play for the reserves against Reading.While Avram Grant's first team prepared for the Champions League tie with Olympiacos, Shevchenko - bought for £30million just two years ago - spent his Monday night performing at a near-deserted stadium on a freezing night in Brentford. Not even the captain's armband could have provided much of a consolation.

To compound Shevchenko's humiliation, he made little impact - with even the club's official website damning his display as 'low key' - as Reading won the match 2-1.
