Peterborough have earmarked three potential sites for the development of the club's new stadium, which will be a new 15,000-seat ground.A site on the North Embankment has emerged as the preferred location following a series of meetings between Opportunity Peterborough, Peterborough City Council and the club.

A club statement read: "The City Council have identified the North Embankment as one of its three options for the football club and Peterborough United can confirm they could work with this option.

"(The site) has the potential to support sustainability, social, sport, educational inclusion and is close in proximity to our existing home.

"All options will be discussed over the next two weeks with this being the first step in a period of debate, consideration and consultation across the city.

"We would wish to thank the city council and Opportunity Peterborough for their support, understanding and initiative in these exciting times for the City of Peterborough, its people and the football club."
