Sodje: Addicks can reel Robins in

Tue 04 Mar, 08:30 AM

Sam Sodje is confident Charlton can claim victory over Championship leaders Bristol City and keep their own promotion bid on course.Sodje was on the scoresheet as Alan Pardew's side won for the first time in four games at the weekend with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United.

Charlton are seven points behind the second automatic promotion spot occupied by Stoke but the on-loan Reading defender claimed, in terms of ability, the Addicks are not far behind their opponents.

"They've had a great season but if we do what we can do then we can win," Sodje told the club's website.

"I know they're top of the league so you can't take anything away from them, but if we play well, I feel we can beat any side in this division.

"It will be a tough game but if we can get our act together we will come out on top."

Scott Sinclair could be in line for his full debut at The Valley and Pardew must decide whether to employ Chris Iwelumo as a lone striker, or push one of Luke Varney or Andy Gray in attack.

Captain Louis Carey is doubtful for Bristol City who will look to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

Robins boss Gary Johnson, who is expected to name an unchanged starting start line-up, said: "Louis is a runner, but he would fall at the last hurdle. It is frustrating for him. It is one of those injuries that keeps reoccurring and causing him discomfort after training."
