Spiller schedules further surgery

Tue 04 Mar, 05:15 PM

Millwall's Danny Spiller is going back under the knife in a bid to cure the hernia problem which has sidelined him for most of the season. The summer signing from Gillingham managed just six games before sustaining the initial injury, and having undergone surgery, the problem did not go away.

Now the Lions are confident they have found the root of the injury, and the 26-year-old will be back on the operating table later this week.

"Danny is hopefully beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel regarding his injury," physio Bobby Bacic told the club's official website.

"It's been a highly-frustrating time as he managed to get 75% fit and then the pain reappeared. We now have a specialist who believes Danny needs corrective surgery."
