Bristol Rugby have signed Harlequins' England Saxons fly-half Adrian Jarvis for the 2008/09 campaign.
The 24-year-old, who made his Harlequins debut back in 2004, has signed a two-year contract.
Jarvis has been a regular for The Stoop outfit over the past couple of seasons and has amassed over 500 points in his time at the club.
He was part of the England Saxons squad that competed in the 2007 Churchill Cup, as well as the recent fixture against Italy 'A'.
Jarvis said: "Bristol's a very traditional rugby club, a club that's right in the heart of its community. That's something that you don't really get in London and something that appealed to me.
"I spoke in depth to Hilly (head coach Richard Hill) and he explained the brand of rugby that he's trying to play here and the role I could play and I found the prospect really exciting.
"I've been very happy at Quins but, at this stage of my career, I think I need a change and I think Bristol is going to be a good place for me to live and play my rugby."
Hill is pleased to have clinched Jarvis' signature, telling the club's official website: "I've gone on record in recent weeks to say that we are looking to develop our attacking game having focused on defence and set piece since returning to the Guinness Premiership.
"Adrian is a fly-half who will help us to achieve that as he's not just a goalkicker, he's also a ball-handling stand-off who is not afraid to move it around.
"He's a quality player who has represented England Saxons and, at just 24, he's still got his best years ahead of him despite already having clocked up a lot of experience in the Premiership."
Harlequins boss Dean Richards said: "I am very disappointed to lose Adrian, but we believe it is a step in the right direction for him.
"He has been an invaluable member of the team for Harlequins over the past few years and although we are sad to see him go, I am sure he will continue to do well under Richard Hill. We wish him all the best in his future."
