Burton injury blow for Barnet

Fri 04 Apr, 03:00 PM

Barnet defender Sagi Burton will miss the trip to Field Mill to face struggling Mansfield after picking up a knee injury against Darlington. The former Shrewsbury man twisted his knee in the 0-0 draw with the Quakers on Tuesday night and is set for a fortnight on the sidelines.

Cliff Akurang was sidelined for three matches with a hamstring injury but made his return ahead of schedule as a late substitute against the Quakers and will push for a starting role.

However Adam Birchall and Anthony Thomas hit four goals between them in his absence so the former Histon striker may have to make do with a place on the bench.

Goalkeeper Rob Beckwith also returned from a hamstring injury against the Quakers and will again be on the bench after Lee Harrison's clean sheet.

Captain Ismail Yakubu is set to again miss out with a groin injury and left-back Kenny Gillet will join him on the sidelines with his knee problem.
