Tranmere Rovers winger Chris Shuker is expected to be passed fit for the trip to League One play-off rivals Walsall on Saturday. The former Barnsley wideman has missed the last two games after suffering a reaction to his comeback from knee surgery.
However, Rovers are hopeful that Shuker will be available to face the Saddlers.
Fellow wideman Steve Davies remains sidelined but he could end a six-month lay-off by returning to competitive action next week.
The 20-year-old winger, who is recovering from cruciate ligament surgery, could play for the reserves against Carlisle at Prenton Park next Wednesday.
Boss Ronnie Moore named an unchanged side for last week's win over Swindon and has no other new concerns as his men seek to enhance their play-off bid.
