Queen's Park Rangers' striker Rowan Vine will miss the rest of the season after breaking his leg during training.

The 25-year-old was taken straight to hospital after sustaining the injury towards the end of training, and X-rays revealed that he has fractured his left leg.

The former Birmingham forward was due to undergo surgery on Thursday evening.

QPR head physiotherapist Paul Hunter said: "Rowan is understandably upset right now, but he is already thinking about getting himself fit as soon as possible."

Vine joined in the January transfer window from Birmingham for £1million after a successful loan spell, and has scored seven goals in his time at the club.
