Sun 04 May, 03:15 PM

Stockport manager Jim Gannon insisted his resurgent side were well worth the points as they narrowly beat Brentford 1-0 at Edgeley Park.Teenager Gianluca Havern provided the all-important winner on his full debut in the second half to set up a play-off semi-final against Wycombe.

"I'm really pleased for the lads after that victory," said Gannon after a much-changed County side had secured their first win in four games.

"They put in a fantastic performance and in the end were worthy winners.

"When we got the ball on the deck we looked a really good side.

"Before the game I wasn't bothered about who we were going to play in the play-offs, whether it was Saturday or Sunday or against Wycombe or Darlington. It made no difference."
