Hill fully focused on play-off test

Sun 04 May, 07:15 PM

Rochdale boss Keith Hill was pleased enough with his side's point from a 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury after fielding a second-string team.Hill's men will now face Darlington in the play-offs and go into the semi-finals on the back of a 10-game unbeaten run.

The match came at the end of a difficult week for the club after the death of assistant manager David Flitcroft's father, John.

Hill said: "It's been a very emotional week, a difficult week for us and sometimes it's easy to get lost in 90 minutes of football and that was the case here. We probably needed that. I felt 1-1 was a fair reflection of the game.

"We now know who we are playing in the play-offs and we can focus all of our attention on preparing for that game.

"We had no preferences as to who we wanted to play in the semi-finals, we always showed due respect for any opponent. We have a mini-league now to play for and our form will count for nothing going into that."M
