Knill pleased with Bishop double

Sun 04 May, 11:30 AM

Bury manager Alan Knill praised 25-goal striker Andy Bishop after his double secured an end-of-season 2-0 away victory over Accrington. The former York frontman tucked home a penalty and scored a solo effort on the stroke of half-time to see off strugglers Stanley.

"It was two great goals by Bish after he had been on a bit of a goal drought by his standards," said Knill.

"I'm pleased for him to get two goals to finish the season.

"We have a lot of strikers at the club but Bish is the one who usually stays on until the end because he is good at what he does - scoring goals.

"It's a great end to the season for us and we deserved it. We were comfortable and I could never see Accrington scoring three."
