Adrie Koster is not taking anything for granted ahead of his Ajax side's Champions League play-off second leg against Heerenveen on Monday. The Amsterdammers won the first leg in Friesland 2-1 with goals from Luis Suarez and John Heitinga, but Koster is wary of presuming they are already through.
"We are not there yet," he said. "We couldn't make the difference count with goals on Thursday and we should have scored more."
Ajax are likely to be without their captain Edgar Davids, who was forced off with a groin injury in the 80th minute of the first leg.
Despite the loss of Davids, Koster is confident his team can progress and his objectives are clear.
"I don't think he is able to play on Monday," said Koster.
"If a player like Davids has to leave the pitch, the injury must be serious.
"We did a good job on Thursday and now we have to win to at least guarantee European football next season.
"After that, we have our next objective: getting through to the pre-round of the Champions League."
Defender Thomas Vermaelen will also miss out with a groin problem, but Jan Vertonghen returns from suspension.
Heerenveen coach Gertjan Verbeek knows his side face a tough job of overturning the first-leg deficit in the Amsterdam ArenA.
"We have to score two goals in Amsterdam," he said. "That's going to be difficut but not impossible. We still have a chance."
The visitors will be without midfielder Miralem Sulejmani (knee) and defenders Kristian Bak-Nielsen (ankle) and Henrico Drost (knee).
