MK Dons assistant manager Ray Mathias paid tribute to his players as they finished their season with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Morecambe.A crowd of 17,250 - the highest in the division this season - packed into stadium:mk to see Aaron Wilbraham give the Dons the lead just before the break.
But substitute Michael Twiss' late strike meant it was a point apiece - but even that could not put a downer on the Dons' post-match celebrations.
He said: "What happened after the game was fantastic, you can go throughout your career without winning anything, and then all of a sudden you do and it is amazing.
"I am delighted for the players, they've been absolutely fantastic. I can't speak highly enough of them.
"To finish five points clear of second place is a great achievement. It is one the supporters, coaches and players all deserve massive credit for."
