David Beckham scored two long-range efforts in four first-half minutes to rescue a 2-2 draw for the Los Angeles Galaxy against Real Salt Lake.
The former England captain bagged the first brace of his Major League Soccer career as the Galaxy fought back from two goals down.
Beckham's first was a wickedly swerving 25-yard effort that gave goalkeeper Nick Rimando no chance.
He then followed that up with a free-kick from even further out - 29 yards - that also beat the beleaguered keeper and found the net.
It took Beckham's scoring record to three in six games - well behind team-mate Landon Donovan who has eight.
"Sometimes it works. Sometimes it don't. Tonight they did," Beckham said. "It was obviously my turn to score the goals tonight instead of Landon."
LA are second in the weaker Western Conference with eight points after two wins, two draws and two defeats.
