Veteran Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia will join German side Bayer Leverkusen on a two-year deal in the summer.
The Finn, who has been at Anfield for 10 years, made his debut for the Reds in August 1999. Hyypia has made 317 league appearances for Liverpool and was a key member of the side which won the FA Cup, Worthington Cup and UEFA Cup in 2001.
A report on the official Liverpool website, www.liverpoolfc.tv, read: "Hyypia underwent a medical with the German outfit this morning and will link up with his new team-mates in the summer for the start of pre-season training."
It continued: "The Finnish international has earned legendary status at Anfield for the part he has played in the club's many successes over the past decade - and he will leave Merseyside with the best wishes of every Liverpool supporter."

Rememeber your debut sammi and thought you looked like bambi on ice!...HOW WRONG I WAS! A true legend! Good luck unless you play us!
honorary scouse passport for SAMI !!!
What a great Liverpool servant Sami has been. I'm one of the old school Liverpool fans who respect those players who have given great service to our club, rather than those who want to play for us because of our great reputation in the world game and then trade on that fact. Sami, you deserve our love and respect. What a great player and every good wish for your future. Which ever club you join will be the better for it.
