Ledley likely to leave

Cardiff boss Dave Jones is resigned to the fact that Cardiff are likely to sell star midfielder Joe Ledley if "the price is right".

Having seen his club miss out on a play-off place with a last day defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, Jones admits that he is likely to sacrifice the Welsh international, whose contract has just over 12 months left to run, in order to make improvements to other areas of his side.

"If the price is right the club will have to take a calculated view," Jones told BBC Sport. "Now the decision might be taken if a player has one year left on their contract and the money is right, then the decision might be taken out of our hands."

He added: "You can't let players run down their contracts and go for free when their contract expires because that is bad business. So there will be decisions that are made that doesn't fare well with everybody and that is the hard facts of football.

"That is what we did with Aaron Ramsey and Glenn Loovens in the past. We might have to sell one player and use the money to buy two or three players to help us get to the next stage."

  1. Should have walked this league. With Jones selling all the top players shows that City do not want to play at the highest level. You just let the fans down big time!
