Premier League - Milan: Chelsea won't get duo

Eurosport - Thu, 04 Jun 10:20:00 2009

Milan general manager and vice-president Adriano Galliani is adamant Kaka will not join Chelsea and has also warned the London side off making a bid for Alexandre Pato.

Reports in England on Wednesday suggested Chelsea had made a world-record offer for Kaka, claims later denied by the club, with the Brazil playmaker seemingly heading now for Real Madrid.

Galliani told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport: "An agreement with Chelsea could not exist. Kaka goes to Real or he remains at Milan. That is his choice and we are doing everything in complete agreement. Negotiations (with Real) do exist, but an agreement is not done."

Galliani admitted on Monday at the unveiling of new coach Leonardo that Milan could no longer compete financially with the big-hitters in Spain and England, and he reiterated on Thursday that they are considering selling Kaka purely for financial reasons.

"He has been here six years and won everything there is to win. Milan can not go on losing 70 million euros a year. The motivation behind Kaka's sale would be economical," he added.

It had been suggested that Chelsea, having missed out on Kaka, would switch their attention to his Brazilian compatriot Pato but Galliani insisted the 19-year-old is not for sale.

He said: "There is a negotiation for Kaka, but none of our other key men are for sale. That includes (Alexandre) Pato, (Andrea) Pirlo and (Clarence) Seedorf."

  1. comment 23 is retarded... and Chelsea wont get kaka or pato, especially kaka. good for chelsea getting their new manager he should do alright as long as he gets the respect for the players, if hiddink left his managerial position in russia for chelsea. i think chelsea would have done quality this next season, with hiddink being able to strengthen the squad in whatever way he wanted, but with ambrossini we will have to wait and see. I would like to see kaka come into the premier league however because it would make it more interesting, hopefully arsenal will make some good defencive signings this year.

  17. On comment number 6. Dear mate, these things are not as straight forward as we fans see them otherwise one Kia will not be determining how much a certain Carlos Tevez is worth. Kaka will be well advised to realise that Milan values 60 Million Pounds more than him so no use saying he must remain there if the money comes knocking as he will not be endearing himself to the powers that be. Any how i believe the father is a good enough business man to know that.

  18. Anybody remember a man called Sheva? He was literally worshipped while on his first missionary journey at Milan but the damage he suffered in Chelsea made his return to Italy a forgettable experience. Milan will not want another of their heroes to suffer same fate so Chelsea must forget about the prospects of getting Kaka. Maybe it's my own little perspective? Comments are welcome.
