What bothers me more about this move is that Bruce has­ managed Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town, Wigan­ twice, Crystal Palace and Birmingham City since­ retiring as a player in 1999. Where is his loyalty? Do­ you really see him managing Sunderland any longer than­ he did the other clubs he was at? I say, NO WAY!

Having taken Wigan as far as they can go, it makes­ sense for Bruce to take a really big job. In life­ people generally try to improve themselves by seeking­ promotion...its odd that we expect football managers to­ loyally stay put especially when chairmen are inclined­ to showing no loyalty whatsoever...good luck Steve,­ hope you bring Sunderland in one place below Wolves­ (somewhere around 6th... ;-).

Just to put afew people in the picture (In the real­ world) We didnt turn Down Manncinni he wasnt­ interested in coming to S/land. Can anyone blame him­ leaving sunny Italy to come to sunny Seaburn I dont­ think so in a million years.
Bruce is not my first­ choice but he may proove me wrong(hopefully) and as the­ previous poster said Stokoe was a geordie and he was­ the saviour of our club, he was and is the real messiah­ , not an imposterr like K Keegan.
