Abbott hopes for Graham agreement

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott hopes the club can avoid having to go to a tribunal when Danny Graham signs for a new club.

The 23-year-old has rejected a new contract at Carlisle and wishes to leave but the club will be entitled to a fee from his new employers.

Abbott said: "I have spoken to Danny and wished him well as he now moves on.

"He wants a new challenge in his career so we have to respect that. Hopefully what will happen now is that we will be able to agree a fee for him with whichever club it is that he moves on to.

"If that doesn't happen then it will have to go to a tribunal and you can never be certain which way that will fall.

"Ideally that situation won't arise and, like I say, we'll come to an agreement. If a tribunal can be avoided that would be better for all concerned but we'll just have to wait and see how it pans out."

  1. How about selling Newcastle with Utd. thrown in free! BOGOF, buy one get one free! Just about what Utd. are worth given current performance under this ownership!
Brunton Park is not even a good bet for Housing given the Market slump. Cheer up Owners, even you will need two years to fight your way down to Conference level, in the meanwhile you may wish to sign up players free from Pirelli, Harraby Catholic, Denton Holme and Warwick Bridge etc.
In the meanwhile someone who actually has money to spend may come along to help out

  2. problem with the board is they have openly admitted that they are just looking after the club untill someone will by the club,BUT the have only told BBC radio cumbria this so nobody really knows the club is for sale. They are not gonna spend they are just gonna take. the awfull 4 are potentially worse than knighton. I fear relegation next season.
