Kilkenny bid fails

Doncaster have failed in a bid to sign Leeds midfielder Neil Kilkenny.

Rovers` official website has stated that manager Sean O'Driscoll has been unsuccessful in trying to lure the 23-year-old into the Championship after counterpart Simon Grayson refused to sanction the move.

"This week, Sean made it known he had spoken to Leeds United manager Simon Grayson about the availability of Neil Kilkenny but had been turned down and told he was not for sale," the site revealed.

Kilkenny joined Leeds for £150,000 in January 2008 after spells with Birmingham and Oldham.

The Australia international was linked with a move to the Keepmoat Stadium in January after falling out of favour at Elland Road before winning his place back following Grayson's appointment.
